Calendar Picture Search

We are now accepting photographs for our 2011 Girl Scout Calendar!
Deadline: February 26, 2010

Do you have a knack for photography? Have the girls in your troop done an outstanding activity this year? We would like to include photographs of Girl Scouts in action in our 2011 calendar!

The theme of the 2011 calendar is "The Power of the Girl" and photos should depict how the Girl Scout program empowers our girls.

We want pictures of Girl Scouts acting as leaders, selling Girl Scout Cookies, studying the environment, camping, traveling to interesting locations, and serving their community.

All photos must be submitted electronically in digital form via our Flickr web site. You can submit images taken with a digital camera or scan your prints into a digital format. Mailed and emailed entries will not be accepted.

How to submit your photograph:

• All entries should be uploaded to Flickr.com GSCNC Submissions Page with the the words reading "Calendar Submission" in the description box.
• Label photographs with the photographer's name and Troop # and your email (example: nancywood Troop50095 nwood@gscnc.org)
• Provide a caption (explanation of what and who are in the picture)
• Make sure to include the name of the photographer in the description
• Photos may be in a horizontal or vertical format and should be in their highest resolution
• Only registered Girl Scouts can be photographed
• As a precaution, please DO NOT include girls names in the picture submission
• Submissions must be received by February 26

The best photo submissions:

• Reflect all age levels, as well as the racial and ethnic diversity of the Girl Scout membership.
• Are of girls "in action," versus frontal, posed shots
• Capture the scenery and landmarks that make the Greater Washington region so special.
• Include photos of girls during every season

All photographs will become the property of Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital. Entries submitted to GSCNC will not be returned. If you have any questions please contact Ashley Lusk at 202-534-3787, alusk@gscnc.org
