CAMP CATOCTIN: “Beach Week”

DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM:

Grab your shades and join us for a week of Girl Scout fun at Beach Week! Enjoy beach-themed and traditional camp activities. Everyone enjoys swimming every day, campfire cookout lunch on Thursday and an all-camp beach picnic on Friday. All campers will attend a fun show with a marine biologist all about the oceans and sea life, meet some live animals and see real ocean artifacts. All Campers participate in the All-Camp show on Friday and families are invited to attend. 4th graders and up will enjoy canoeing and archery and an overnight camp-out. Grades 6-8 will go water tubing on Thursday and will receive Program Aide training during camp. All campers receive a camp t-shirt and patch. Girls will earn the following recognitions: GSCNC Sun Safety patch – Grades K-5 – learn to have fun in the sun safely; Oceanography badge – Grades K-5 and PAs; Archery badge – Grades 4 - 7

Rangers (sons of staff in ES) $60
Pixies (staff, pre-school, potty trained siblings) $40

GIRL LEADERSHIP ROLES AND REQUIREMENTS:
Program Aides need to have completed 7th grade prior to day camp and have taken Camp Catoctin-approved PA training. Non-mandatory planning meetings with PAs begin in January. PAs can use planning and day camp hours to fulfill  service hour requirements for GS, school etc.

SPECIAL OVERNIGHTS OR FIELD TRIPS:
Wednesday overnight for Girl Scouts in the 4th grade and above.
Thursday Field Trip for Grades 6-7
