Telling Her Story

"I saw a troop of Girl Scouts in our local newspaper. They're doing all that, I thought? I want to be part of that too."

Local Press Representatives (LPR) serve as media contacts in specific geographic areas throughout the Council. These volunteers help us create visibility in the communities we serve, reminding others of the opportunities available through Girl Scouting.

 LPRs:

  • write and distribute press releases,
  • establish relationships with local reporters,
  • and create a presence in the local community by highlighting Girl Scout events and troops.
  • Take part in LPR media training in September

We welcome older girls and adults with an interest in media communication to apply.
