Girl Scouts Tour County Landfill
Girl Scouts Brownie Troop 3151 from Balls Bluff Elementary School in Leesburg visited the Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility for a tour of the County Landfill. Sights on this driving tour include an old landfill cell that is closed, an operating cell where trash is buried, and a brand new cell that has not opened yet. Large equipment that move and compact the waste is also a common feature during the tour.
The Loudoun County Solid Waste Management Facility is located at 21101 Evergreen Mills Road, Leesburg, and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Tours are currently being scheduled for next Spring. Call 703-771-5514 for information.
