Program SpecialistPOSITION: Program Specialist REPORTS TO: Manager, Program Services PRIMARY AREAS OF WORK: Develops and implements program services for girls and troops, with special emphasis on development of grant-funded and special programs. SPECIFIC DUTIES: Creates, develops and writes programs and curricula to meet council operating goals and to comply with requirements for grant-funded programs. Markets programs to internal and external audiences. Tests and evaluates program activity models and other program opportunities for assigned programs. Meets with funders, Director of Fund Development, and Grants Officer during all phases of grant process, including initial planning, program development, and program implementation. Requires reporting grant-specified details, statistics, and other information to the funders via in-person meetings, presentations, and written reports. Identifies program needs and potential solutions. Researches potential funders and community partners to meet identified needs. Provides additional support for recruitment activities to support membership outreach. Activities could include program consultation, development of specialized programs, and/or occasional presentation of programs. Assists in defining standards and practices for volunteer support and assistance as needed. Supports REACH (Regional Events and Activities Coordinator and Host) Team of volunteers. Works collaboratively to achieve Program Department goals. Provides professional and courteous customer service to members, funders and community partners. Recruits and supports adult volunteer participation and community collaboration in program development Provides timely data and input for GSCNC statistical and grant reports Ensures that all programs are developed in keeping with Girl Scout health and safety, human relations, sensitive issues and other guidelines. Ensures that participation in program events is inclusive and representative of all jurisdictions within the Council. Performs other related duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates with professional Girl Scout experience.
