Cadette Troop 1592 Formal Cruise Photo Girl Scouts Travel to Canada

Girl Scout Cadette Troop 1592 of Germantown, MD cruised from NY to St. John, New Brunswick  Canada in August. They toured the historic city, shopped, and enjoyed some fun on board a cruise ship. Submitted by Alison Tisaranni.

Troop 5881 at the Food Drive For Lorton Community Action Center Food Drive for the Lorton Community Action Center

Camping Skills Day: Brownie's First Match!

Camping Skills Day

In late September, 100 Girl Scouts from Maryland participated in a Camping  Skills Day put on by Girl Scout Senior and Ambassador Troop 3288  from Potomac, Maryland as a money earning activity for their Summer 2016 trip to London, England. The girls belonged to 14 troops and learned how to build a fire and cook over it, how to put up tents, and with the help of Girl Scout Junior Troop 272, participate in singing fun camp songs.

Cadette Troop 5126 - Court of Awards Cadette Troop 5126 Starts its Silver Award Year with a Court of Awards

Cadette Troop 5126 based at Julius West Middle School in Rockville kicked off their third year of being Cadettes with a Court of Awards.  Each girl then posed with two of her favorite badges or patches that she earned. The girls finished up the aMAZE Journey last June and now are starting their Silver Award projects. Submitted by Christina Halpern.

Bronze Event Project

Junior Troop 1019 from Bowie, MD held their Bronze Project event titled a Harry Potter/Wizarding World event for Brownies and Daisies. Girl Scouts incorporated the Girl Scout theme of Courageous and Strong into each activity station. Girls attending the event made wands, created a spell, played games, and learned about magical creatures. Submitted by Lynne Snyder.

Boat Tour with Captain Mark on the Occoquan River

Troop 5881 of Springfield/Lorton kicked off their scouting year with a boat tour from Rivershore Charters on the Occoquan River. Captain Mark regaled the troop with history and stories from the area, and we had a wonderful time on a gorgeous day! Submitted by Vonda Peterson.
