Volunteer Development SpecialistPOSITION: Volunteer Development Specialist REPORTS TO: Manager, Adult Volunteer Development PRIMARY AREAS OF WORK: Under general supervision, the Volunteer Development Specialist is responsible for duties relating to education and support of adult volunteers. Specialists develop curricula, resources and help guide the direction of council-wide task groups and volunteer committees who improve placement, training and recognition of adult volunteers. SPECIFIC DUTIES: In partnership with volunteers and staff, the specialist is responsible for developing in-person trainings and online learning modules using our software and processes. Collaborates with staff and volunteers to distill complex Girl Scout concepts and communicate them through webinars, articles, web pages and social media. Appoints and manages volunteers who work in assigned volunteer positions and committees. Consults with leadership on volunteer concerns and reassignment opportunities. Participates on departmental and council task groups and committees, and serves as a department representative in meetings to promote and advise on volunteer development issues. Performs other related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates with experience in Girl Scouting, volunteer management, online courses, and/or adult education.
