Camp Aquasco

Camp Aquasco, in Aquasco, Maryland, was acquired in 1974.

The camp is comprised of 172 acres owned by the Maryland Parks and Planning.  The camp features two sides- one an open field for primitive camping, the other with a lodge and glen shelter unit.

Rentable facilities include seven primitive units, a pavilion, a lodge, and one glen shelter unit. The maximum capacity for the entire camp is 204.  Map

There are five seasonal (November 1 - April 1) port-a-johns and a cold water hydrant (November 1 - April 1) for the primitive sites.

The lodge includes a kitchen, bathroom facilities with flush toilets and a shower, and gas heat and fireplace.  There is a nearby outdoor fire circle.

The glen shelter unit also includes flush toilets, sinks and a shower, as well as a year-round cold water hydrant.

Weather warnings are often issued by county. Camp Aquasco is in Prince George’s County.
If threatening weather approaches, take shelter immediately. At Camp Aquasco troops should
evacuate to the main lodge in an emergency.

Paper products (toilet paper, paper towels) are NOT PROVIDED at our campsites (including lodges).

Special Dates
Aquasco has a traditional annual Core Camp each year.  For this and other special dates, see our Important Camp Dates page.

To learn more about Camp Aquasco or reserve a campsite there, visit our registration website. This site is password protected and the password is released to troop leaders who have

filed an updated B220 form for the year.  This form asks you to list certified adults associated with your troop and must include a leader (101 and level training), first aider, and camping qualified (200) adult.

To find a camping qualified adult to help your troop go camping, check out more information about our resource list.

Camp Caretaker
MikeMeet Aquasco's Caretaker, Mike Roberts!

Mike is on call for any issues before or after you arrive.  His contact information is available on the camp information packet you will receive when you reserve a campsite at Aquasco.

There's no need for you to check in with Mike when you arrive at camp, but if you'd like to leave him a note (regarding things that need to be fixed- or just a "thank you"), a caretaker's mailbox is available on the main property.
