History and Archives Committee

The Archives Committee is charged by the Board of Directors of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital with preserving and protecting the documents and materials which reflect the history of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital and its preceding entities, and with fostering knowledge and appreciation of the rich history of this Council and the Girl Scout movement.

History and Archives Committee members:

  • Hold monthly work days to manage the GSCNC Archives Collection
  • Assist with the creation and presentation of programs and program materials with historic themes
  • Present GSCNC Archival exhibit at events such as LeaderFest, the Annual Meeting, and/or Kickoff

The History and Archives Committee meets in the evening on second Monday of each month, and in the morning on the second Wednesday of each month at the GSCNC DC Office.  Members attend one of these meetings each month.
