General Trainer Requirements
Apprentice Trainer Process and Requirements
- Complete Council Trainer Application process
- Register as an adult member of GSUSA
- Attend 12-hour Train-the-Trainer course
- Co-train at least three courses, in at least two different subject areas
with at least two different lead trainers
- Attend a Field Experience Roundtable
Experienced Trainer Requirements
- Register as an adult member of GSUSA
- Train at least nine hours per year
- Attend six hours of continuing education over a three year period
- Complete self-assessment in preparation for three year appointment
- Attend Fall and Spring Trainer Meetings as well as the SUM and Trainer Kick-Off Meeting
