Training Requirements
Training prepares you to help the girls plan age-appropriate and fun meetings, activities and service projects. Training also includes practical and tested tips for involving your troop's Girl Scout families.
Step One: Complete 101 Basic Leadership Training*
- Materials required for training are obtained from your service unit
- Course may be taken in a classroom or online
Step Two: Complete Program Level Training, specific to age of girls**
- 102 Daisy Level; 5-6 years old and in kindergarten
- 103 Brownie Level; 6-8 years old and in 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade
- 104 Junior Level; 8-11 years old and in 4th, 5th or 6th grade
- 150 Teen Level; 11-17 years old and in 7th-12th grade
* Basic Leadership Training is required before a troop can leave the meeting space.
**Program Level Training is required within the first six months of your appointment as a troop leader.
