Camp Brighton Woods

Camp Brighton Woods is a 60 acre camp located near Ashton, Maryland in Montgomery County. There are many hiking trails through this rustic property making it perfectly suited for nature walks and exploring the outdoors.

Program Opportunities

Available on-site activities include hiking and nature trails. The pipeline clearing and the Sports Field are ideal for star gazing, kite flying, filed games and large group activities such as Bridging Ceremonies. Plays and ceremonies may be staged in the amphitheater where the flag pole is located.

Features

Camp Brighton Woods has an abundance of wildflowers as well as other vegetation. Hiking along the forest trails or Paxutent is exiting adventure for many girls and they may see deer and other woodlands animals. Canoeing is available on the Brighton Dam which is approximately 2 miles from the camp. Canoe trailors can be rented from GSCNC. For more information contact the Camping/Property Specialist.

Water Sources

Water is available year round at all sites except Creekside.

There are two camp phones. One is located on the outside wall of the lodge basement (east end of building, near Deer Run) in a wood lock-box and the second line is in the lodge.
