Troop Camp

Troop camping provides unique opportunities for girls to practice not only outdoor skills, but to learn cooperation and teamwork. Troops must have the proper girl-adult ratio and the group must be accompanied by a Troop Camp trained adult for the type of camping they are doing. The required First Aider for troop activities must be at least eighteen years of age.

Encampment

Encampments are usually Service Unit sponsored and can be a good, first-time camping experience for leaders and girls. Troops need to have the proper girl-adult ratio and must be accompanied by Troop Camp trained adult and a currently trained adult First Aider. Service Unit Managers are notified in October and April of the spring and fall reserved weekends for encampments on council-owned sites and the application and placement process. A Service Unit Encampment trained adult must be a member of the Service Unit Encampment team. Applications for non-council sites must be made 6 months prior to planned dates.

Brownie Core Camp

Core Camp is a two-day, one night camping experience for Brownie Girl Scout troops. Core Camp is intended for the new Brownie leader who has little or no Girl Scout camping experience and who would feel more comfortable in a group camping situation. The troop may or may not have had any camping experience. Additional information and application forms are found in Mosaic.

Junior Jamboree

Junior Jamboree offers Junior Girl Scout troops a chance to enjoy a two-night, three-day camping experience in a large group setting. Troops are responsible for their own equipment and meals. Some program activities are provided by the Jamboree staff. Additional information and application forms are found in Mosaic. Usually held in the Fall and Spring.

Junior Discovery Camp

Junior Discovery Camp is a 3 day, 2 night camping experience for Junior Girl Scouts offering the opportunity to explore ecology based activities. Troops must provide an adult who has completed 204 or 214 training and a First Aider.

Adventure Camp

Adventure Camp is a two-night, three-day, camping experience for bridging 6th graders, Cadette or Senior Girl Scout troops. It offers the opportunity to enjoy an extended troop camping experience as well as an opportunity to meet other “older girls” and share a resident camp type of experience. Additional information and application forms are found in Mosaic.

Day Camp

One and two-week day camp programs for individual girls are offered around the Council at both urban sites and traditional campsites. A wide variety of themes ensures something for everyone! Information is found in the camp brochure which is distributed in early spring to all registered girls.
