GSCNC Camps

GSCNC operates seven beautiful camps. Facilities at these camps range from heated lodges with kitchens, to advanced camping sites for tent pitching, to natural primitive camping sites without latrines or water.

  • Camp Aquasco: 172 acres located in Aquasco, Maryland.
  • Camp Brighton Woods: 60 acres located on Brighton Dam Road near Ashton, Md.
  • Camp Coles Trip: 225 acres located on Aquia Creek near Stafford, Virginia.
  • Camp Crowell: 60 acres located near Oakton, Virginia.
  • Camp May Flather: 45 acres located in the George Washington National Forest, approximately 150 miles from Washington, near Bridgewater, Virginia.
  • Camp Potomac Woods: 101 acres located on the banks of the Potomac River near Leesburg, Virginia.
  • Camp Winona: 176 acres located near Hughesville, in southern Maryland.

Occasionally it is necessary to close one or more camps because bad weather. Troops will be called immediately if this happens. When possible, the determination to close a camp is made on Thursday by noon for the coming weekend.
