CampingNon-Council Campsite Directory Designed with troop camping and Service Unit Encampments in mind, this directory offers a variety of camping environments - from primitive campsites (where you dig your own latrine)- to cabins and dormitories with flush toilets. Some campsites offer unique program opportunities, and others a quiet solitude where you and your girls can acquaint themselves with nature. While we have researched the sites through questionnaires, telephone interviews or internet searches, please be advised that all information was provided by the locations themselves and subject to change. A council representative has not visited each campsite, and listing in this directory does not constitute a Council endorsement. The approximate distances indicated in the directory are estimated using the council office in DC as a starting point. Leaders are encouraged to investigate the site to verify information and ask questions specific to your needs. Remember to consult your Green Pages for complete details on all camping permission forms. Although we have identified sites that can accommodate individuals with special needs, please be sure to review your troop' specific needs with the site manager. Some sites in this directory offer high adventure. If participating in a high adventure activity on-site the establishment must be listed on the High Adventure Vendor list and GSUSA/GSCNC standards and procedures must be followed. If you are aware of other sites that might be suitable for Girl Scout camping, please contact the Camping Services Manager so they can be added to this web-based directory.
