How to reserve a GSCNC Campsite |

CampingCamp Potomac WoodsCamp Potomac Woods is a 101 acre facility located on the banks of the Potomac River in Loudoun County near Leesburg, Virginia. It includes a variety of terrain such as upland woods, marshlands, stream valleys, riverbank, open fields and a mossy area. Program Opportunities Star gazing, field games, compass courses and flag ceremonies may be undertaken on the large, grassy areas within the camp. The camp offers many varied nature trails including Priscilla's Trail. On this trail, girls can wind their way through woods, ridges, past a large downed tree in "Never, Never Land", over footbridges, into a hollow sycamore tree (also known as the Pooh Tree) and finish their expedition in another part of the camp. Features Camp Potomac Woods offers many types of wildlife including deer, raccoon, skunk, opossum, fox, great blue heron, screech owls, birds and shore and stream animals. Vegetation and forset trees include cottonwoods (found along the riverbank), oak, maple, tulip poplar, sycamore, spruce, dogwood, sassafras, and rare black walnut trees that are located near the dining hall and field. Pre-Colombian Indian artifacts has been found nearby. Water Sources There are year round water sources at the frost-free hydrants at all sites.
