GSCNC CAMPS - SERVICE UNIT ENCAMPMENT DATES - FALL 2008

The process for applying for Service Unit Encampments is outlined below.

Service Unit Managers must complete the  Application for Service Unit Encampment for Council Campsite form (on-line click here), for downloading PDF form click here

This is for encampments on GSCNC Campsites only.

Application Process

To apply, complete the Application for Service Unit Encampment for Council Campsites form and mail, fax or e-mail by March 17, 2008. Selections will be made based on requested dates and camps. Please indicate as many choices as possible when completing the form. Requests will be processed using the following priority system 

First Priority: Service Units that have never had encampments on Council sites.

Second Priority: Service Units that the most amount of time has elapsed since the last Encampment on a Council sites.  For example: SU #97 in September 1990; SU #98 in October 1990; and SU #99 in September 1992; SU #97 would have priority over #98 and #99; SU #98 would have priority over #99.

For those Associations that have recently split use past Service Unit Encampment records.

 

Applications with incomplete information or showing only one choice will cause delay in processing requests.  If you have only one choice for camp or date, please note that on the application. However, please keep in mind the more flexible you are with dates the better your chances are of being placed.

 

Applications must give a projected number of participants as accurately as possible. Please select a site that is appropriate to the size of your group. Priority will continued to be given to SU who have had the longest time span between encampments. Larger SU will also be given priority at our larger camps.

 

The following information may be useful in determining which sites will meet your maximum overnight capacity needs. Every effort will be made to accommodate requests for GSCNC Campsites within the limits of the facilities available. Please consult your campsite directory for more specific site information.

APPLICATION MUST BE POSTMARKED, FAXED OR E-MAILED BY March 17, 2008. Please note applications will be accepted prior to March 17

Service Units will be mailed notification of the status of their application by April 7, 2008.

 

If your Service Unit is placed, you will receive a confirmation memo and a Request for Facilities and Site form.  In order to hold your site and date, your completed form must be postmarked to GSCNC by June 27, 2008.

 

Final Payments and paperwork will be due to the council office by September 12, 2008. If full payment is not received by this date your sites will be released to troop camping.

 

Refunds will only be given if your encampment is canceled, in writing, at least four (4) weeks before the date of your event. You will receive more information on final payments in your confirmation packet.

 

Except for Camp May Flather and Camp Aquasco, applications for Service Unit Encampments will be considered only for the dates noted in this memo.  Sites released by Service Unit Encampments will be available to other groups during your encampment with the exception of day and primitive sites.
