Have your girls planned a great money-earning event that they would like to advertise throughout the council? Are your teens looking to spread the news about an exciting program opportunity? “Programs by Girls for Girls” is the place to advertise your girl-driven program opportunities!

“Free to be Me” Conference
For 5th-8th graders
Sunday, February 24, 2008 from 11:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Academy of the Holy Cross, 4920 Strathmore Ave, Kensington, MD
Cost: Free

Modeled after GSUSA’s “Uniquely Me” self esteem development program, this conference will have workshops for both girls and adults that will focus on techniques that will empower girls to make healthy lifestyle choices. Topics include: dealing with bullies and mean girls, healthy eating and exercise for pre-teens/teens, improving mother-daughter relationships, makeup and skin-care techniques, and feeling good about yourself on the inside and out.

Kelly Brady’s Gold Award Project

World Thinking Day
February 29 at 7:00 p.m. - March 1 at Noon
George Mason University Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center, Manassas, VA

Cost: $15/girl
All Ages

Join Cadette Troop C529 to celebrate World Thinking Day. Sing karaoke, play "Are you Smarter than a Girl Scout?" and enjoy snacks and drinks. There will be swimming, games and opportunities to earn Petals/Try-Its/Badges/IPs.

Brownie Fun Day
April 19, 2008 from 9:00 - 4:00 (two sessions)
Camp Crowell - New Lodge

Oakton, VA
Cost: $8/girl
Brownies are invited to come enjoy the day while meeting new friends, learning new songs, making music and exploring wildlife. Juniors will help Brownies to earn Try-Its.

Dave and Busters Day
April 5, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Anne Arundel Milles Mall
Brownies-Teens
Cost: $45 (Troops of 10 or more $40/girl)

Dave and Busters will offer a fun day of sports, interactive games, dancing with a DJ, puzzle-solving, scavenger hunts, movies and more. Enjoy a delicious lunch and a full day of fun!
