New Teen Committee: By Girls, For Girls (BGFG) (ongoing)
This committee will have ongoing meetings throughout the year and girls can join at anytime.

GSCNC is surrounded by dedicated young leaders and we have decided to start a new committee- just for teens! We hope to use the motivation and idealism, experience and skill of young people to make a difference in our organization and our community. Committee members will make a significant contribution to the policies that affect them. Interested in a different kind of program? See a need for a change? Your input will help us to design different kinds of programs and to institute change where it is needed. Along with fun activities and adventures, this group will be able to be on the forefront of making decisions that benefit the girl membership of our council. Interested in joining and sharing your voice? Click on the link below for the application.
If you have any questions, contact the Teen Program Specialist at teenprogramspecialist@gscnc.org or 202-237-1670 or 800-523-7898 ext. 236.

Sudden Service - Girl Scout Volunteers For Ceremonial Events And Special Activities

Each year GSCNC receives requests from local and national organizations and governmental agencies for Girl Scouts to perform duties such as participating in flag ceremonies, helping at receptions, ushering at special events and serving as race marshals.  The Sudden Service program was formed to respond to last minute requests for a specific number of girls, a particular age group or a diverse group of girls who are representative of the GSCNC membership. If your troop is available to do things on short notice—from one day to one month—please complete the form available online at www.gscnc.org/info/suddenservice.php, or contact Belinda McBean atbmcbean@gscnc.orgfor more information.

Join the SingAlong Service (ongoing)

The SingAlong Service is a song-leading group for Girl Scouts in grades 9-12 and adults. SingAlong Service members give song workshops for a minimum of 35 participants who want to learn and practice songs. Workshops may be part of a troop/service unit event, campout, Thinking Day, Bridging or special ceremony, or offer training at a service unit meeting. A SingAlong Service Coordinator contacts members with dates for requests. Take part as your schedule permits. Members also get together twice a year at the Sing Into Weekends with service members and other singers to share and learn songs from each other. If you love to sing and would like to join the SingAlong Service as singer or instrumentalist, please complete the SingAlong Service Application form and send it in. If you have any questions about the SingAlong Service, please contact Karen Brown at ks.brown@comcast.net or 301-469-6663. Download Form here (PDF)
