Celebration of Difference
With the start of a new year, why not bring a special guest to your
troop meeting? Zink the Zebra reminds the girls in your troop of the
importance of compassion and respect for all. Troop leaders in our council
tell us that implementation of this program has lead to a difference
in the ways girls treat each other. There are three ways that you can
bring Zink to your girls.
1) Encourage the girls to celebrate the concepts of Zink throughout
their meetings and events.
2) Check out the Zink kit at www.gscnc.org/program/zink
or by contacting Stephanie M. Murillo at smurillo@gscnc.org or 202-237-1670 or 800-523-7898 ext. 310.
3) Join other members of the council at one of three Zink events this
year, which will be announced in the Mosaic portion of Capital Notes
and online.
Activity to try:
(2/16/2007) What I like about you:
Gather up paper plates, markers and safety pins and get ready to spread a little love! Have the girls pin a plate to their backs. Then have the girls go around and write things they like about each other on each girl's plate(no peaking!). After everyone has had a chance to write on each girl's plate, un-pin the plates from each girl. Then have the girls go around and read aloud all the nice things they like about each other!
