This program is geared towards the
Listening to the Past Try-It. Girls will tour the furnished 1845 farmhouse and hear the stories of a young girl who lived at Cherry Hill in the 19th century. Girls will also play a parlor game and enjoy the hands-on keeping room with old cooking utensils.

Juniors can work on their My Heritage Badge as they play games their ancestors may have played, learn the origins of old sayings and words of wisdom and hear entertaining stories of past occupants as they tour the 1845 farmhouse.

Folk Arts in 19th Century Virginia
Program Level: J
Juniors will explore a girl's life in the 19th century as they examine antique toy collections and view old photographs. Girls will also create an old-fashioned craft project.

19th Century Tea Party
Program Level: B, J, T
Girls can practice their manners and enjoy a full English tea of sandwiches, sweets and warm scones in the lovely dining room of the 1845 farmhouse. A costumed docent will host the tea and talk about a girl's life in mid-19th century Virginia.
Fee: $20/person for full English tea
