The Juliette Low Society
Since GSCNC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, a bequest allows a donor to pass any amount to GSCNC free of estate taxes. You can specify the dollar amount or any percentage of your estate to be donated with or without restrictions. There are several ways that you can qualify for membership in this special group. Giving levels may vary depending on your chosen method:
In the early days of Girl Scouting, Juliette Low sold her family pearls to cover rent for the first national Girl Scout office. A beautiful silver trefoil pin with a pearl center will commemorate your membership in the Juliette Low Society. Additionally, you will be included in an investiture ceremony and will be invited to attend the annual dinner of Society members at the Four Seasons Hotel in Georgetown. GSCNC publishes Girl Scouting, a quarterly newsletter that addresses
the importance of planned giving, provides financial management tips and
profiles members of the Juliette Low Society. To receive the most recent
edition of Girl Scouting, download the PDF
version or contact our Fund Devolpment Department at 202-237-1670. Have you remembered the Council in your estate plans? If so, please fill out this form (PDF) JLLS Membership Profile, and you will officially be inducted into the Juliette Low Legacy Society. In addition to honoring your gift, this protects you and all parties legally and spurs other donors to consider the future of Girl Scouting.
