In the real-life world of espionage, spies often call upon the art of magic and illusion to distract the enemy, make evidence disappear, and escape unnoticed. Join professional magician, Peter Wood, as he demonstrates the art of misdirection, sleight of hand, and other illusions used by skilled spies. This one of a kind performance, custom designed for the Spy Museum, is guaranteed to fascinate children and adults alike.
Fees: $11 - *One adult is required for every 5 girls

Maryland Science Center - Camp-In

Camp-In is a one-night overnight informal science education event. Girls participate in three theme-based, hands-on workshops, view a Planetarium show, see an IMAX film (not necessarily related to workshop theme), explore three levels of interactive exhibits, shop in the Store, and - of course! - spend a night at the museum. Camp-In also includes an evening snack, a light breakfast, and a participation patch.
Fees: $42 per person

Tavern Overnight: Media Journey

Media is an unavoidable part of life, but are you controlling it or is it controlling you? Girls will use the collection of the Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Museum alongside modern advertising to examine types of media, persuasion techniques, and stereotypes. Then, using their new media savvy, they'll take action and create a Public Service Announcement to get the real message out about girls' health and/or beauty. By the end of the overnight, girls will have completed all of the steps for the It's Your Story-Tell It: Media leadership journey for Girl Scout Cadettes.
Fees:Girl: $30, Adult: $20
$3 per activity patch, $10 for souvenir t-shirts, $11 for patch and t-shirt combo (pre-order only)

Explore your family story by researching your name and learning about your family traditions. Share your story by making a family tree and crest and through storytelling. Fulfills badge requirements for new My Family Story Girl Scout Brownie program and 3 requirements for old "My Heritage" Girl Scout Junior Program. 5 girls minimum - 15 girls maximum.
Fees: $10
Includes supplies, DAR Museum patches, and Program badge

The Washington Examiner presents Girls World Expo 2013
Who: Girl Scout Teens
When: Saturday, January 5, 2013, from 11a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Convention Center, Washington DC.
The one-day, fun-filled Expo where young women have an opportunity to explore different college and career choices with the help of mentors and experts in those fields, learn how to create a healthy body image through good food and exercise choices, unlock the secrets of staying safe online and in life, and hear success stories from creative women leaders representing a wide variety of professions. Programs include:
- Seminars on hot topics, such as body image, bullying, self-esteem and managing relationships.
- A street-style marketplace with local vendors displaying clothing, jewelry, books, art and salon items.
- A science fair, "Bright Ideas," showcasing inventions from local middle school and high school girls
- A college and career fair featuring successful local women from companies, colleges and trade schools who will provide information on career paths, degree programs and internships.
- A runway fashion show featuring local girls in stylish outfits of all sizes.
- An art show, live music and dancers.
- A brunch celebrating the "Girls of Merit"
