**PLEASE NOTE - this does not take place at the museum on the National Mall**
Come and explore exciting science activities during the Girl Scout Day at the National Air & Space Museum, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center! Take the controls of a flight simulator, see the Space Shuttle Enterprise, experiment with the forces of gravity, and speak with women scientists and engineers all on the same day. Presenters from the museum, Federal Aviation Administration, National Capital Astronomers and many more make this a unique opportunity. Cost: FREE! Patches may be purchased online for $1 per patch. Please make sure you also register for the event. Patches will be available for pick up at Registration Check-In the day of the event. Troops have the choice between AM and PM check in. Creative Arts Program - Arts Council of Fairfax County
Who: Girl Scouts of All Ages
When: Most of our artists' programs run from 45 minutes to one hour; they are also willing to work with your group to meet your particular needs.
Where: Artists can perform at any location of your choice.
CAPs connects high-quality, juried artists and art groups to audiences throughout Northern Virginia. Our artist roster includes dancers, musicians, theater, storytellers, and other educational acts from 14 states and Canada. When your troop or service unit subscribes to CAPs, you receive access to our online directory of artists, including videos of performances, photos, contact and booking information. Groups can then contact artists directly to book workshops and performances, which are perfect for Thinking Day, as well as cultural and educational programming.
Fees: $75 annual subscription fee + artist fees

2013 Art Contest
Who: Girl Scouts of All Ages
Deadline: March 4, 2013
The theme for the contest is "Soaring into the Next Century" and we would like Girl Scouts to show us what they hope for Girl Scouts and Girl Scouting in the next 100 years. They can create a drawing, painting, collage, etc.
The winner will have their art created into a mural in the DC Girl Scout Office and top winner's art will be displayed at different Council events throughout the year.

What's a Dine-Around? Dine-Arounds are informal dinners, brunches, teas or other events that are hosted by Women's Advisory Board members at their homes or businesses. They are a unique chance to gain insight from successful women and will prove to be an amazing networking session. Please note there is no cost to attend a Dine-Around.
