Girl Scouts Nation's Capital Names New Director of Human Resources


Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital is pleased to announce the appointment of Angela C. Baker to the position of Director of Human Resources.  She will be responsible for personnel management functions, including negotiating benefits, counseling staff, and recruiting talent to make Girl Scouts an employer of choice in our region.

Ms. Baker has a long career leading human resources departments across the country.  She was regional Human Resources Director for Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care in Glen Burnie, MD, and Human Resources Director with Peachtree Orthopedic Clinic in Atlanta, Georgia.  She was also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park.  Ms. Baker received her MA in Human Resources Development and Management from Marymount University and her BA in Industrial Psychology from Towson University in Maryland.

Ms. Baker is a Girl Scout alumna with fond memories of selling Girl Scout cookies to everyone she knew. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Angela’s experience and dynamic personality will be an asset to our staff team as she leads all aspect of the human resources functions for our organization,” said Lidia Soto-Harmon, CEO of Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital.

Ms. Baker resides in Fort Washington, MD with her husband and teenage son. She is active in her community and church.
