Are reservations required? - Yes, to take advantage of the special rate you must make a group reservation with a $100 deposit two weeks prior to your trip. If you wish to get a participation patch your reservation must be made by Nov 31, for the Dec weekend, or Jan 31, for the February or March weekend.
Do we need to attend both days? - No, you can come for a day trip or make a weekend of it. Either way it is $49 per day to ski or snowboard and $31 for all-day to snow tubing on Saturday or Sunday.
What are the hours of operation? - The skiing and snowboarding slopes are open Fridays from 9am to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 10pm. The tubing hill is open on Fridays from Noon to 10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 10pm. Each day’s ticket is good from open to close.
What are the lodging options and cost? - You can see the full list of lodging partners on our website here: http://www.skiroundtop.com/lodging – the Comfort Inn, and Hampton Inn have special rates, just mention “Roundtop Scout Weekend” when you call. You need to contact the individual lodging alternatives to ask about their per room capacity. See attached lodging sheet for additional group (non-hotel) lodging options.
What if someone does not want to ski or snowboard? - Anyone who wishes only to tube would be $31 for an all-day pass. Anyone who does not wish to participate in any activity may spend their time in either the Main Lodge or the Tubing Lodge at no cost for admission.
What are the options for breakfast, lunch & dinner? - All of the lodging options include a hot breakfast each morning. Our Main Lodge restaurant does serve breakfast, which can be purchased a la carte. You can purchase as many $10 meal vouchers as you wish and they can be used at any time for lunch or dinner in the food court at either the Main Lodge or the Tubing Lodge.
Do you rent and/or sell ski, snowboarding or tubing equipment? - The rate includes all the ski or snowboarding equipment one would need for the day, including a helmet. All the participants need is appropriate outdoor clothing. We do have a retail ski store on property for your convenience if something needs to be purchased while on the mountain. Although, as Boy Scouts say, “Be Prepared.”
What is the cancellation policy? - Scout Winter Weekends are rain/snow/shine events. If you decide not to come, and notify us in advance, we can transfer your deposit and any pre-payments to a future trip date. The same discounts will not be available on the new date, unless it is rescheduled for a later 2016-17 Scout Winter Weekend. You would have to contact whomever you lodge with in order to get their cancellation policy.
