As a volunteer, you’ll introduce girls to new experiences that show them they’re capable of more than they ever imagined. No matter the amount of time you give, volunteering with Girl Scouts is flexible and fun!

Description of troop volunteer positions:

Troop Leader

All troop leaders encourage girls to build confidence while trying new things.  By coordinating a team of volunteers, leaders can help everyone contribute.This position requires annual membership, background screening, and Basic Leadership and Program Level training to uphold the safety of girls.Find a Basic Leadership and Program Level training to get started. Troop Money Manager

The Troop Money Manager manages the troop checking account and supports the troop committee with reimbursements. They engage the girls in goal setting and budgeting and are key to the financial integrity of the troop. This position requires annual membership, background screening and annual training from the Service Unit Money Manager. Troop Cookie Manager

Help guide the next generation of financially savvy business leaders by helping girls set and achieve goals through the Cookie Program. This position requires annual membership, a background screening, and training from the Service Unit Cookie Manager. See a full position description here.

Troop Fall Product Sales Manager

Help your troop start out with the funds needed to do fun things. This position receives training from the Product Sales Department. See a full position description here.

Troop First Aider

Support your troop as the First Aider by taking Council-sponsored training, or bringing your credentials from another organization. Courses containing all of the following elements are accepted: 
•Basic first aid
•Adult and child CPR training, including a “hands-on” skills demonstration even if the course is hosted online
•AED training 
Some healthcare professionals may also serve as First Aiders for the troop. See Volunteer Essentials, Chapter 9 for more information on Troop First Aiders. This position requires annual membership, background screening, and current first aid/CPR/AED certification.

Troop Cookout & Campout Qualified Volunteer

This person supports the troop in outdoor cooking and camping. This position requires an annual membership, background screening, and training. Training includes an online pre-requisite tutorial and an in-person overnight Cookout and Campout class.

Troop SHARE Leader

This position ensures all families have the opportunity to donate through our annual giving campaign. In the SHARE campaign, troops help achieve a service unit goal through 75% individual gifts and 25% from other methods. This position requires an annual membership, background screening, and training from your Service Unit SHARE Chair. See a full position description here.

Friends and Family Volunteer

Support your troop by becoming a Friends and Family Volunteer. This role includes driving and chaperoning for Girl Scout events. This position requires an annual membership.
