Find a Girl Scout Cookie Booth Sale in Your Community
Go online at www.gscnc.org

WASHINGTON- Now through early April, everywhere you turn you will see Girl Scouts selling cookies.  Girl Scout Cookie booth sales begin Friday, February 27.  It's easy to locate a Girl Scout booth in your neighborhood by visiting the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital "Cookie Jar" website at: www.gscnc.org and entering your zip code.

Girl Scouts conducted an unscientific poll on their website, which revealed that Samoas are the favorite variety this year with 35 percent of the votes in the Greater Washington area. "Everyone has their preferred Girl Scout Cookie," said Lidia Soto-Harmon, Deputy Executive Director for the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital.  "We are just having fun giving our customers the chance to vote."  The poll will remain up until the cookie season is over in early April.

Girl Scouts began taking cookie orders in January and approximately 3.7 million boxes were delivered to the region. If you missed the opportunity to buy Girl Scout Cookies, you have another chance to purchase cookies at a local booth sale.  Go online and visit the Cookie Jar, type in your zip code and find a Girl Scout booth in your neighborhood.  While online, vote for your favorite Girl Scout Cookie, because after April you will have to wait until 2010 for Girl Scout Cookies.

Everyone knows that Girl Scout Cookies taste good, but not everyone realizes that the sale of cookies supports the nonprofit organization that makes Girl Scouting possible for all girls everywhere. All proceeds from the Girl Scout Cookie program remains in the Greater Washington DC area to support Girl Scout Troops, programs, maintain our camps and provide financial assistance to help make Girl Scouting possible for all girls.
