Gold Award FaqsQ. Where do I find the right form to do my Gold Award? How do I apply for the Gold Award Scholarship? A. Forms for the Gold Award and Gold Award Scholarship are in the Going for the Gold Booklet as well as online at the teen forms page (www.gscnc.org/girls/teen/forms). Q. Do I need to have earned the Silver Award to earn the Gold Award? A. No. The Gold Award can be earned regardless of whether or not you have earned the Silver Award. Q. Where do I as a parent of a Gold Award Recipient wear my parent pin on the uniform? A. The parent gold award pin is not really identified as being worn on the adult uniform (page 26) Uniforms and Insignia. But, the pin could be worn below the nametag. Q. Do I have to type my proposal? A. If you can't even read your own handwriting, the Gold Panel probably can't either! Check out www.gscnc.org/girls/teen/forms. All forms in Kaleidoscope and Going for the Gold are listed here in Word format so that you can type in your answers. Q. Do I really have to read ALL of Safety-Wise before I do my proposal? A. Make sure you've really looked at Safety-Wise and understand all of the things you'll need to think about. Write out exactly what things you'll need to follow for your project. Hint: most girls forget about first aiders and permission slips! Q. What if I can't get all the supplies I need for my project donated to me? A. Budget it! At first, getting all the supplies you need donated to you sounds easy. But what if it doesn't happen? Make sure you have an alternate source of funding listed on your budget in case things don't go as planned. Think about maybe paying for some things you need from your troop budget or from that job you had over the summer.
