Teen Girl ScoutsGuidelines and Deadlines For Going For the GoldPlease note* The Gold Award Scholarship is for girl members of GSCNC. Begin by obtaining a copy of the Going for the Gold booklet. It contains information and forms. The forms from this booklet must be used. No other forms are accepted. Forms are also available on the website at www.gscnc.org/girls/teen/forms. Before beginning your project you must complete the initial project plan form. Plan to submit it at least 6 weeks before you hope to begin. DO NOT BEGIN WORKING ON THE PROJECT BEFORE YOU HAVE APPROVAL. Submit the initial project plan by 5:00 PM on the first day of the month (the first working day if the 1st falls on the weekend). It will be considered for approval by the Gold Award panel, which meets the second Thursday of each month. Expect to hear the results from the panel about 10 days following their meeting. In writing your proposal, be as specific as possible. List the Safety-Wise standards, guidelines and checkpoints that apply. Give a listing of how you will spend the 50+ hours that are required. For guidance you may contact any member of the Gold Award panel. Remember that the project should reach outside the Girl Scout community and
meet an expressed need. After you have completed your project, submit the final project report form from the Going for the Gold booklet for review. This form must be accompanied by a log of the hours you spent working on the project. You have until September 30th of the year you graduate to complete your project
and submit your final paperwork. Are You Going for the Gold? Have A Question about the Gold Award? Direct it to our Teen Specialist through email at teenprogramspecialist@gscnc.org Maybe your question has already been answered. Try the Frequently Asked Questions Page for more Gold Award Information
