Destinations

Are you ready to Escape?
Perhaps you can see yourself catching waves in Puerto Rico, headed to the beach in San Diego or perhaps something more exotic- Space (well, Space Camp, but you get the idea)!

What is a destination? A destination is defined as: "any experience, regardless of distance or length of time, that provides a girl 11-17 with an opportunity to expand her personal experience beyond her everyday scope" (GSUSA). There are different types of destinations offered by GSUSA:

  • Outdoors - Events that focus on the outdoors; many involve camping. Many are collaborations between GSUSA and Outward Bound.
  • Science - Different fields of science are represented here. Girls can learn how to be a zookeeper, all about medical careers, and more!
  • People - Discover the heritage and history of people from different places.
  • International - Any event that is outside the United States. There are opportunities in Europe, Central America, and Canada this year!
  • Getaways - 2 to 4 day events around the country. These do not require the same application process as the others.

The deadline for first rounds of applications has passed, but many destination events still have space.

If you are interested in a trip you may still apply. Please send completed applications to GSCNC to be signed by the Teen Program Specialist who will then forward them to the appropriate contact.

For more information contact Megg Del Giacco.
