Troop 2325 Earned Their Emergency Preparedness Patch
Fire Fighters / EMT visited Troop 2325 during their October Meeting. The girls learned a lot about Emergency Preparedness (identifying local risks, how to connect with service agencies, understand hazards and appropriate protective actions, local alerts and warning systems, how to prepare yourself and your family, and how to deal with emotional responses).
The scouts were shown how Fire Fighters and EMT respond to an emergency once they are being called to a sight. They even shared their equipment with them.
As EMT's these folks are often the first health care officials at the scene of an accident or other medical emergency and they have to go through extensive training and be very well prepared.
