Historic Ships in BaltimoreOvernight Adventures (ALL)Enlist in the United States Navy or Coast Guard and join the crews aboard the USS Constellation, USS Tarsk, or USCGC Taney to learn new maritime vocabulary and skills necessary for running a ship. Aboard Constellation, new recruits and their parents will learn about the Age of Sail and operate large cannon; aboard the Tarsk they will work with periscopes and learn the importance of buoyancy; and aboard the Taney they will learn how to fix damages aboard ship and explore areas only frequented by engineers and officers. Dinner, breakfast, and hands-on activities are included in addition to free admission to the museum. On September 26, 1860, USS Constellation spotted a ship carrying a cargo of slaves bound for the Americas. Help stop the slave ship Cora and learn new maritime vocabulary and skills along the journey. Girls and their parents will board Constellation and be inducted into the crew on a three-year journey in a tight to stop the trans-Atlantic slave trade. The new recruits will learn how to sail the ship and use the large cannon to stop the slave ship Cora from escaping.
