BE A PART OF THE GIRL SCOUTS - WHERE GIRLS GROW STRONG!

Join us for an Exciting $ummer and Get Paid for doing it! The Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital (GSCNC) has lots of day camps throughout the City, Metropolitan Area and Outlying Areas from Point Lookout, Maryland to the edge of Fauquier County, Virginia and everywhere in between.   The camps operate from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and run between 2 weeks to 6 weeks all summer long.  Beginning mid June through August.  You'll enjoy Fun, Sun, Kids, Smiles, and Memories!   GSCNC has summer employment opportunities at neighborhood camps.  Join us for a summer and make memories for a lifetime ... for the girls and yourself.

The following is a list of possible staff positions in our summer day or evening programs. The job descriptions are general, and may vary from camp to camp.

DIRECTOR: Responsible for the total operation of the camp; including training and placement of staff, scheduling and coordinating all program activities.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: Responsible for carrying out jobs as delegated to her by the director. Helps with training and coordinating activities.

FIRST AIDER/NURSE: Available at all times for emergencies and illness. The primary First Aider MAY NOT have any other role in the camp – they must be available at all times for first aid emergencies. The secondary First Aider may assume another role during the camp.

UNIT LEADER: Responsible for a set number of girls for the duration of the camp. Coordinates a balanced program. Plans with girls and adults all details of unit activities. Responsible to the administrative staff for records and reports, standards and equipment.

ASSISTANT UNIT LEADER: Works with the children and assists the unit leader to help plan and carry out the activities of the unit. Responsible to the administrative staff through the unit leader.
