Inauguration Day Activities

Inauguration Day Activities include the Inaugural Parade and activities surrounding it. They are all day and primarily outdoor activities. Your responsibilities may include ushering, ticket taking, distributing flags, picking up litter and cleaning off stands. They can also include service at VIP, Dignitary and White House Stands, and swearing-in events.

Scouts may be asked to participate in other Inaugural Special Events. These activities may take place at any time before or after the Inauguration Day Activities. Special Events may necessitate last minute notification.

IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER

· Troop Application must be COMPLETE.
· Application must be received by the deadline (November 30, 2004) in order to be considered
· ONLY Scouts from grades 9 through 12 may apply.
· Participants must comply with dress requirements. Complete Scout uniforms MAY be required for specific events.
· Participants must provide their own transportation with emphasis on car-pools and metro.
· Inaugural training may be required
· ADULTS: May be assigned as "adult in charge" and be responsible for ALL Scouts assigned to them.

APPLICATION PROCESS

1. Complete ALL items on the application form
2. Attach a completed troop roster for Scouts/adults wishing to participate in Inaugural Activities complete with name, address, date of birth and Social Security Number.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not know at this time what the 2005 Inaugural will look like nor do we know to what extent we will be asked to participate. We are "being prepared".
