Inauguration Day Activities

Inauguration Day Activities include the Inaugural Parade and activities surrounding it. They are all day and primarily outdoor activities. Your responsibilities may include ushering, ticket taking, distributing flags, picking up litter and cleaning off stands. They can also include service at VIP, Dignitary and White House Stands, and swearing-in events.

Scouts may be asked to participate in other Inaugural Special Events. These activities may take place at any time before or after the Inauguration Day Activities. Special Events may necessitate last minute notification.

We are currently gathering information from troops that are interested in participating.  We will hold a lottery to determine which troops will actually participate.  Filling out the interest survey does not guarantee placement.  Troops selected in the lottery will be notified in mid to late December.

IMPORTANT POINTS TO REMEMBER

  • Interest Survey must be received by the deadline,   December 14 at 11:45 pm, to be placed in the lottery·
  • ONLY Scouts from grades 9 through 12 may apply.
  • Participants must comply with dress requirements. Complete Scout uniforms MAY be required for specific events.
  • Participants must provide their own transportation with emphasis on car-pools and Metro.
  • Inaugural training may be required
  • Adults may be assigned as "adult in charge" and be responsible for ALL Scouts assigned to them.
