Speaker's BureauInvite a representative of the Girl Scouts to share news about what today's girls are up to!About the CouncilThe Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital serves nearly 80,000 girl and adult members. The girls are active in 4,587 troops in: Washington, DC; The Maryland counties of Calvert, Charles, Frederick, Montgomery, Prince George's and St. Mary's; The Virginia counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun and Prince William; and cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church. Thousands of dedicated volunteers and a first-rate staff see to it that area Girl Scouts have a wide range of appealing programs in science and technology, the arts, ecology and many other areas. About the SpeakersWomen with first-hand knowledge of today's youth and how they tackle issues as they seek to find their niches in life women who appreciate how things have changed over the decades for Girl Scouts and girls in general. Teens who are growing up in Girl Scouting— serving their communities, pursuing intriguing projects and discovering distinctive ways to express themselves. Teens who are facing up to the wide-ranging challenges of this 21st century tell how Girl Scouting has made a difference in their lives. Community leaders who are energized by their volunteer work with girls who are committed to the goals of Girl Scouting and enriched by the opportunity to help shape young lives. Busy executives who serve as troop leaders and in other roles and who recognize that today's girls need to know about computers and technology as well as campfires and cookies.
