 Lemon Chalet CremesFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE A message from the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital Deputy Executive Director, Lidia Soto-Harmon: "The manufacturer of our Girl Scout Cookies, Little Brownie Bakers, has informed us that they have received complaints about the taste of the Lemon Chalet Cremes. After testing that product, Little Brownie Bakers determined that select batches, which can be identified by serial numbers listed at the end of this statement, were not up to Girl Scout's high standards. We have been assured that this is not a food safety issue, but one of taste. This problem is intermittent, and every box within a serial number is not impacted. No other cookie varieties in our product line are affected. Lemon Chalet Cremes represent about six percent of cookie sales in our region. The identified lot codes were about 1.8% of our total cookie inventory. Girl Scouts and Little Brownie Bakers are committed to ensuring the satisfaction of our customers, and therefore will exchange affected Lemon Chalet Cremes. We have removed the Lemon Chalets Cremes identified by the serial numbers from inventory within our control; however we are aware that many Girl Scouts have delivered cookies to their customers. We want to assure customers, unhappy with the Lemon Chalet Cremes, that they can exchange them for a new box of Lemon Chalet Cremes. Girl Scout Cookies have a reputation for great taste. The proceeds from the sales support the good work of Girl Scouting in our region. Girl Scout troops will not be financially affected by this product exchange. We are sorry for any inconvenience and appreciate your continued support."
