Girl Scout Day at the National Air & Space Museum, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center

Come and explore exciting science activities during the Girl Scout Day at the National Air & Space Museum, Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center!  This year's event will take place on Saturday, March 24, 2012, 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Take the controls of a flight simulator, see the Space Shuttle Enterprise, experiment with the forces of gravity, and speak with women scientists and engineers all on the same day. Presenters from the museum, Federal Aviation Administration, National Capital Astronomers and many more make this a unique opportunity.

Registration will open the week of January 3rd.  Click here to register!

Patches will be available for purchase for $1 each by order form.  You will receive your patch order form when you check-in at registration the day of the event.  Orders will not be accepted at registration, they must be submitted by mail to council after the event.

Exciting news!! This year, there will be NO program fee for the event if you are driving yourself.  We hope this will help troops more easily afford the $15/car parking fee at the museum, especially since it has increased from years past. There is a $10 per person fee to ride the bus to help offset a small portion of the high cost of bus transportation.

In honor of Girl Scout Day, the Smithsonian is offering a discounted $5 rate for Girl Scouts and their families at the Airbus Imax Theater and Pulseworks flight simulators. Experience the thrills of an Air Force fighter jet on a 6-story IMAX screen, or take over the controls in one of the interactive simulators. Just mention the offer at the ticket counter to receive the special promotion. Tickets are not included in Girl Scout Day. Discounted simulator tickets must be purchased at the simulator ticket desk on the ground floor.
