High Adventure & Outdoor Programs

What Is High Adventure?

The following activities are considered high adventure because they require specialized equipment, skills and training. For these activities you will need to submit a B240 - Notification Form and gain special permission from a parent or guardian (Check off on permission form that the activity is High Risk.)

Backpacking

Bicycling

Boating

Canoeing

Caving

Challenge Courses

Horseback Riding

Ice Skating

Kayaking

Rafting/Whitewater Rafting

Rockclimbing/Rappelling

Roller Skating

Ropes/Initiative Courses

Sailing

SCUBA Diving

Snow Shoeing

Snow Skiing/Snow Boarding

Swimming

Theme Parks

Windsurfing

Any other activity that requires specialized equipment, skills, and training.

When planning a high adventure activity, leaders should always consult the Activity Checkpoints found in Safety-Wise. It is the responsibility of the Troop Leader to ensure that the vendor meets all Safety-Wise guidelines.
