The GSCNC REACH Team (Regional Event & Activity Coordinator & Host) helps girls reach for their dreams and goals with courage, confidence and character by bringing council-sponsored and enrichment programs to local areas. REACH training will be offered 2-3 times each
year as interest and trainer availability dictates. Training
will be a one-day (approximately 4 hours) training. The next training is scheduled for Saturday, August 23 at Camp Winona. Register
GSCNC Core programs are those based on current GSCNC goals and grant funding requirements. Current programs include Zink the Zebra, Capital Currency, Traveling Wizards (science), and Smart Living as well as Gold Award, Program Aide and similar workshops. Training for these programs will be included in the basic REACH training and/or in enrichment workshops or as training modules.
Enrichment programs are other programs of interest in the local area and might include programs such as Brownie Try-It Days, Cadette/Senior lock-ins, etc.
Specific responsibilities involved in delivery of GSCNC programs will be explored in detail at REACH training but generally will include:
- Determining date and time for program
- Identifying and securing the program site
- Submitting Program Proposal Form to assigned GSCNC staff
- Working within approved program budget
- Securing additional facilitators/program aides as needed
- Securing supplies for program (from GSCNC or as agreed to for specific event)
- Facilitating and/or coordinating program, including set up, check in, activities, clean up, etc.
- Completing evaluations and reports
Hosting a GSCNC staff-planned event may include
- Site set up
- Point person for facility, presenters, volunteers and girls
- Check-in
- Distribution and collection of evaluations
- Site clean up/lock up as necessary
- Submission of event report
GSCNC staff support for programs will generally include:
- Review and approval as appropriate of program proposals
- Advertisement of event
- Registration for event
- Advertising event to REACH Team for Apprenticeship opportunities and support help
- Providing supplies and/or reimbursement as appropriate and approved for programs
- Providing registration check-in lists, evaluation forms, and other administrative items as needed
- General program support
