Participate as a Step Team

The first 15 steps teams to complete the Team Entry Form (See below) will perform in the showcase. Each team will be evaluated in the following categories: showmanship- includes attire and music selection (optional), audience (enthusiasm), choreography (entrance/exit, transitions, variety of movements) and execution (precision/synchronization, lines/formation, technique) by a team of judges. The winning team for each Girl Scout level will be awarded a $25 Girl Scout Shop certificate.

REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY:

• Teams can have a maximum of 15 registered Girl Scouts (from troop or a combination of troops). Adults are not allowed to step.
• Routines should not contain profanity nor suggestive movements.
• Performance time should be no more than 7 minutes in length.
• Music must be on a CD and submitted to GSCNC by Friday, April 18, 2008. NO EXPLICIT LYRICS.
• Participating teams must attend a dress rehearsal at Trinity at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2008.

  In addition to completing the Team Entry Form below, alll troops must register their participants and spectators for the Step Showcase on GSCNC’s program registration system.

Entry forms must be submitted by Friday, February 29, 2008. Forms can be submitted by mail or through email to Aisha Williams, Field Director (GSCNC, 4301 Connecticut Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20008). Participating teams will be notified by Friday, March 7, 2008.
