Fishing Rod/Reel Rentals
Program Level: All
Our rod/reel combinations are perfect for beginning scouts. You get a rod/reel rigged with line and tackle to get you started. Fishing tackle may be purchased at the visitor center. Valid driver's license is required. Virginia or Maryland freshwater fishing license is required for persons 16 yrs. or older. An on-line Virginia freshwater fishing license is available at the park for a fee with a credit or debit card. Reservations recommended. Forms B220 and B240 are required for this high adventure activity.
Fee: Rental cost $5 (maximum 2 hours).
When: Rentals available 9-4 pm weekdays, except Tuesdays, and 12-4 pm weekends. All rods/reels must be returned by 5 pm.

Animal Vets
Program Level: Brownies, Juniors
Go "behind the scenes" and help care for our exhibit animals, including turtles and toads. On this special day, take the animal's vital signs and check their health.

Make Your Own Holiday Ornament
Program Level: Daisies, Brownies, Juniors
Tassels, pine cones and walnuts all add up to make some cool holiday ornaments. Follow some of our examples or create your own stylish or wacky ornaments.
