Whitewater Rafting at Harpers Ferry

Program Level:  Minimum age is 7 yrs & 50 lbs for general public

Join us for white water rafting (Class I-III) on the final stretches of the Shenandoah River as it tumbles into the Potomac, carving a spectacular 6.5-mile watercourse through the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Young rafters travel through three states while guides interpret Civil War and natural history.  Bring your own picnic or enjoy our tasty riverside picnic that allows for rest and relaxation during the half-day trip.

*Camping at Brunswick Family Campground is an option for those wanting to explore the area.

Fee: Prices vary according to group size, day, youth/adult and picnic options.  Average price on weekends for groups:  $52-$64 + fees

North Branch Dam Release Rafting

Program Level:  Minimum age is 10 yrs for general public 

This guided trip, only three hours from the Washington DC area, is nestled in the heart of the Potomac Highlands, making for a fantastic day, overnight, or weekend getaway. Rapids are continuous Class II-III+ , and feature waves and rollers up to 6 ft high!  A barbeque picnic overlooking the oh-so-blue Randolph Jennings Lake is included in the trip.

Antietam Creek Tubing

Program Level:  Minimum age is 7 yrs & 50 lbs for general public

Antietam Creek River Tubing is a perfect way to splash, play, and relax—in a unique circumstance, under stone-arch bridges and a canopy of trees. Kids and adults alike will love seeing mallards, blue herons, and water turtles in their natural home. Because the stream is spring-fed, the water will refresh you even when the air temperature breaks through the 90s.

*Camping is an option for those wanting to explore the Harpers Ferry area and Antietam Battlefield.

Fee: Prices vary according to group size, youth/adult and picnic options.  Starting Price:  $29-$37 + fees for groups of 10 or more.

Mellow River Tubing on the Shenandoah

Enjoy this mellow 1-2 hour tubing adventure a few miles above Harpers Ferry National Park.  Dropping over shallow ledges along the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, you are sure to enjoy this mellow and beautiful stretch of river. Paddling in kayaks/canoes on-site may be added to this trip.

Brunswick Family Campground is on a secluded stretch of land between the Potomac River and the C&O Canal National Historical Park in Frederick County, Maryland. The Canal’s scenic towpath winds past the Brunswick Campground and provides the only road access to this riverfront camping area. So sit back, and enjoy the scenic views of Short Hill Mountain, the Potomac River, great blue herons and the occasional eagle that passes by. With the historic Chesapeake & Ohio Canal only steps away, camping at Brunswick is perfect for biking, hiking, boating and exploring the history of the canal.

Fee: $4/person + 5% amusement fee
