Potomac Woods RiverWalk

The Potomac Woods RiverWalk is an environmental learning trail and patch program designed to educate girls on the importance of preserving and managing natural resources while inspiring them to spend time outdoors.

The Potomac Woods RiverWalk was made possible thanks to a generous gift by long-time Girl Scout members and volunteers Sara Phillips and her daughter Dr. Barbara Sutton.

The RiverWalk patch program consists of Program Activities (patch requirements), Activity Kits, and Learning Trail Stations. Program Activities correspond to Learning Trail Stations where the activities are completed.  The Activity Kits provide detailed instructions and non-consumable materials for each activity so you don't need to be a scientist or naturalist to guide girls on the RiverWalk trail.

Want to see what other troops thought of the trail?  View their photos and other reflections on the RiverWalk blog.

Already completed the RiverWalk? Please take a moment to fill out our short online evaluation. You can also post on the RiverWalk blog by emailing your submission to Jacque Walsh, Camping Specialist.
