Service & AdvocacyIn English folklore a Brownie was a helpful little elf who quietly did chores and other good turns in people's homes before they awoke. This is how Brownie Girl Scouts came by their name, and all Girl Scouts have continued the tradition of providing service for the past 95 years. The Service Project Planning Guide can help your group get started on your own service project. You can also find listings of local service organizations and special service days on the Service Resources page. You don't have to plan your own project to help out though - browse the Council Service Opportunites page to see how you can volunteer with GSCNC, or check out Service Opportunitites through Outside Organizations to see where help is needed in the community. Be sure to check back often, as new opportunities arise all the time! For help tracking your service hours, check out the Isadora Inchworm Patch Program. Looking for volunteer opportunities for adults? Try the Resource Volunteer Opportunites page, or consider becoming a part of the REACH team of Girl Scout Program Volunteers. |
