The Chantels

The Chantels are capturing audiences all over the world with the great sound of doo-wop. Three original Chantels, Lois Harris Powell, Sonia Goring Wilson and Renee Minus White, continue to sing in beautiful harmony with Noemi "Ami" Ortiz, the newest member.

The quartet has a glorious sense of timing and angelic voices. Noemi belts out a strong lead on the group's top hits like "Maybe", "Look In My Eyes", and "I Love You So".

The Chantels have performed for audiences at Radio City Music Hall in New York City; Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles, Lakewood Amphitheater in Atlanta; Pittsburgh's 3-Rivers Stadium and The Westbury Music Fair on Long Island.

The Chantels were honored by The Rhythm and Blues Foundation with the "1996 Pioneer Award" at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, as part of the Grammy Awards celebration. These extremely talented ladies are also featured in the celebrated "Doo Wop Is Alive" photo unveiled February 3, 2000 at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington DC.

Throughout the years, the group's unique harmony has remained the same. Today, The Chantels realize the importance of sharing their beautiful sound and music with the world. These wonderful women are legends of our times.
