95th Anniversary Guest Performers

Katy Benko

Katy Benko is a native Virginian and longtime Girl Scout who has made quite a name for herself in the world of Country Music. She has shared the stage with some of the industry's top acts including Kenny Rogers, Brooks & Dunn, Toby Keith, Brad Paisley, and Glen Campbell. At 15, she earned the title World Champion Teen Vocalist at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. A year later she was named Grand Champion Vocalist and bested 1200 other acts in several categories to be named first runner-up to the Grand Champion Performer of the World. With the 2003 release of her award winning album "Float," the talented singer's already storied career made its formal entry into the national spotlight, charting on several Country Music charting systems and receiving great reviews from top industry insiders. She most recently collaborated with New York composer Gordon Harrell (Fosse) on "Building Bridges" - a theme song for the World Championships of Performing Arts which she performed live at the Hollywood Palladium August 12, 2006.
