Metro

Metro is "The Easy Way In" to the Sing-Along.
All Metro rail lines converge in the heart of downtown Washington
D.C. Traveling by Metro is very simple. Metro Stations are
handicapped accessible.
- Metro fares, schedules and maps can be found at www.metroopensdoors.com
- All day parking is free on Saturdays at Metro stations
that have parking lots.
- Sing-Along Volunteers will greet you at Metro Stations
for bus parking and at downtown stations to direct you
to the mall.
There are five Metro rail stations within a 15-minute walk
of the Sing-Along:

THE FARECARD SYSTEM
Traveling on Metro rail requires the use of a fare card
to enter and exit the system. Everyone, at least five years
of age and older, must have his or her own fare card. Fare
cards can be purchased for single or multiple trips.
- Fare cards can be purchased at all Metro rail stations
using the automated fare card machines.
- We recommend that you plan on arriving early to your
departure station to buy fare cards on June 9th or, if
you can, visit your departure station at any time before
the event to purchase your tickets from fare card machines.
- Fare cards may be ordered directly from Metro on their
website http://www.wmata.com/riding/online_sales.cfm
- Order fare cards at least 15 business days before the
event.
- The One Day Metro rail Pass allows you to ride all day.
FARECARD: HOW TO USE IT
- On entering a Metro station, at the fare gates, insert
the fare card arrow forward in any gate with a green light
and white arrow.
- The fare card is returned to you via a slot on the top.
- When you pull the fare card out, the gate opens.
- Only one person is allowed through the gate at a time.
- Save the fare card, as you will need it to exit at your
designated station.
