STUDIO 2BThe key to success in working with teens is to facilitate "by girls, for girls" planning. From the time a girl joins Girl Scouting — whether as a Daisy or as a Cadette or Senior, she needs continual opportunities to make decisions about the direction the program in her troop or group is going. While we as adults often think we know what is best and what they need, girls need to be involved in making these decisions. Girl Scout program is based on a skill progression. Starting where she is at the time she begins, a girl should have multiple opportunities to try new things, and develop skills in areas that attract her, including planning, goal setting, decision making and evaluation. We do girls a disservice to do it for them or decide for them what they want and need. One of our four program goals is to help each girl develop to her full potential. How can she learn what that is if we do not give her chances to grow and develop her interests? By Girls, For Girls (BGFG) - New Dates!
